Applicants for admission to ICC are accepted without regard to race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, gender identity and its expression, disability, or veteran status. All applicants need to be at least 18 years old; if under 18 years of age, a student would need to have a parent or guardian assist him/her in the admission process.
ICC offers long-term (three 15-week semesters during a calendar year) and short-term programs. Applications for admission are accepted throughout the year. To be considered for admission, the following is required:
ICC takes into consideration extenuating circumstances and may allow students, who need to interrupt their education, to reinstate their student status.
During the re-admission process, the student is required to contact the Office of the Registrar, where a determination of the student’s reinstatement will be made.
Following the BPSS Transfer of Instructional Hours Policy, ICC may allow a student to transfer instructional hours from a course or curricula taken at another post-secondary school which is licensed, registered, or accredited by the state or federal authorities, if the following guidelines are followed:
Tuition and fees are pro-rated so that the student pays a proportional cost in relationship to the number of instructional hours s/he will receive.
The applicant must submit a certificate of completion and a course outline along with the application for admission. Transfer students, who will receive credit for transferring instructional hours, will have their tuition adjusted accordingly. If the student elects to attend the course for which the credit is given, the student will be responsible for the tuition during this time.
At ICC, we follow the established Transfer of Instructional Hours Policy and carefully review students’ academic credentials earned at other educational institutions. The assessment of prior learning and ability to transfer instructional hours allows our students to speed up the educational process by completing fewer instructional hours or by having certain courses waived.
When applying to ICC, please inform the Office of the Registrar about previously acquired training and education.
